Drafting and document generation

The draft that used to take a morning

Extraction turns documents into data. This is the same problem pointing the other way: the document somebody has to produce, assembled from the data and the wording that already exist in the business. The work is rarely creative. It is finding the last one like this and changing what needs to change.

How it runs today

Somebody opens the most recent similar document, saves it under a new name, and works through it changing names, dates, figures and the three paragraphs that are specific to this case. The real risk is that one of the paragraphs from the last one stays in, and it is about somebody else.

What the system does
  1. 01We work from your own approved material: the clauses, the sections and the phrasing your business already stands behind.
  2. 02It pulls the case-specific facts from the systems that hold them rather than from whoever is writing.
  3. 03It drafts into the structure the document actually has, which is usually a house template with rules nobody has ever written down.
  4. 04It marks every place it could not source something, so a gap arrives as a gap.
  5. 05A person edits and signs off. Nothing goes out on the draft alone.
What you get
  • A first draft in the house structure, with the facts pulled from the record
  • Each sourced passage pointing back at the material it came from
  • Gaps and assumptions listed rather than smoothed over
  • The same standard of drafting whoever is on the file that week
Where it stops

It does not send anything and it does not sign anything. Everything it produces is a draft for a person to take responsibility for, and where it has had to assume something it says so at the top.

Where this shows up
  • Tender and proposal responses drafted from previous submissions and the current requirement
  • Reports and case summaries assembled from the records behind them
  • Standard agreements and letters drafted from the clauses your legal team has approved
